This maternity session was a few weeks in the making, due to record-breaking weather here in Ottawa!
As it turns out, we ended up with a gorgeous evening to photograph this equally gorgeous family of three, who will soon become a family of four.
Christine, Jean-François and their adorable son Adrien are keeping the gender of their baby a surprise and I get the impression that Adrien will be equally as excited to have a baby brother or sister.
Adrien is such a sweet boy, who was very shy to begin, but soon warmed up to the camera.
We met at Mer Bleue conservation area which provided the perfect backdrop and a fun adventure for Adrien, who enjoyed running along the boardwalk and hunting for frogs.
Mer Bleue is one of my favourite areas to visit in Ottawa as it is different in every season, but equally as beautiful. With the hint of spring on the way the chipmunks and squirrels were making an appearance, and I was even lucky enough to see a Beaver in the water (pretty exciting for the Australian gal!) I am told, that the pH level of the water here means that mosquitos cannot breed, and therefore remains mosquito-free. Early spring is not the best time to test out this fact, but interesting none-the-less.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time photographing this lovely family and I am equally looking forward to meeting this little one when he or she arrives!
