Oh April, you fickle beast, you have thrown some of the best and worst weather at us but this day exploring our local neighbourhood trail was one of the best.
It is lovely to see the ground again, and watch the green buds emerging from the trees. The kids love to splash in the puddles and break through the remaining ice that lingers on (well after it is welcome I might add!)
For April’s family outing, we decided to stay close to home. We are fortunate enough in Ottawa to be surrounded by nature and this particular trail was only 5 minutes from our home.
With the slow and timid arrival of Spring, our family is starting to talk about camping, fishing, swimming, BBQ’s and all the other fun activities we love in the summer months. With winter being as long as it is here, we need to take advantage of the outdoors while it is available, so taking a hike after supper is always a welcome suggestion.
Do you have seasonal activities you love to do as a family? We’re always looking for new adventures and would love to hear your ideas! Feel free to post in the comments and we will try to cover some of them!
Also don’t forget to follow the gorgeous blog around and see what the other talented artists have been up to this month (the link is at the bottom of this page).
Here’s hoping that April (snow) showers still bring May flowers!
