The family outing for this months blog circle was to visit a local library, we chose to visit the Manotick public library as we had never been there before.
Every month I try really hard not to start my posts with where did the month go, but seriously, where on earth did the month of November go? It is like that every year for us, and it won’t slow down until mid-January either.
Besides birthdays, and various other events that happen in November for us, my kids are eagerly awaiting a visit from their grandparents who are coming to celebrate (what we hope will be) a white Christmas. It will be a vast change from the hot Christmas temperatures that my parents experience back in Australia and we are all excited to see them.
While the snow is yet to appear here in Ottawa, it is definitely getting cold, with frosty car windows in the mornings and puddles that are starting to ice over, we’ve had the occasional flurry, but nothing sticking around yet.
I wish we had more time to walk around the library’s grounds, but we arrived just as the sun was setting and the library was due to close shortly. This library sits right on the Rideau River in the gorgeous town of Manotick, and next time we visit I’d like to spend some time exploring a little further.
